St Lucia Activities

This South African Safari Lodge is ideal for tour groups and families. While staying with us, we can make sure that you get to enjoy the best that the iSimangaliso Wetland Park has to offer. Explore the lake on a hippo cruise, take a safari to the Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Big Five Reserve, go deep sea fishing or watch for whales and dolphins. There are walking trails, turtle tours, night dives and beach adventures.

There is a world of wonder waiting for you in the iSimangaliso World Heritage Site.
We'll help you find it.
St.Lucia - a very special slice of Africa, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park offers eco tourists some of the most diverse wildlife and outdoor experiences imaginable. For this reason it was declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE in December 1999.

The climate is sub-tropical with a year round rainfall of about 1300mm ( of which, 70% falls in summer in the form of tropical evening showers). Typical winter ( June) temperatures are: Night time - 15 celc. Day time - 25 celc. Typical summer ( Dec to Feb) temperatures are: Night time - 24 celc. Day time - 36 celc. The area probably has the most agreeable temperatures in South Africa.

The lake and surrounding area, as well as the wetlands surrounding it, teems with hippos, crocodiles and many other wild animals. Birds include fish eagles, hornbills, goliath herons, paddle-billed storks, green pigeons, loeries (3 species), narina trogons etc. It is probably South Africa's best bird viewing area with over 520 species having been identified here.

Unspoilt beaches, on which turtles lay their eggs, stretch for many hundreds of kilometres northward. Cape Vidal offers excellent snorkelling, protected swimming and your drive through Cape Vidal takes you through a game park with hikes, viewpoints, sub-tropical forest and bush.

The Hluhluwe/iMfolozi game park which is known as the Rhino park of the world is approximately a 40 minute drive from St Lucia.
You can expect to find the "Big Five" and many more.

The St Lucia village offers a variety of excellent restaurants, pubs, curio and other shops. An excellent golf course is available in Monzi, 15 km before St Lucia.
